The event 1000 BEATS will take place in the picturesque setting of Selinunte (Trapani, Italy), a small town on the south-west coast of Sicily, renowned for being the most extensive archaeological park in Europe and nominated for recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Some of the ancient ruins have been restored, allowing the wonderful Temple of Hera to be almost completely reconstructed.

The present village was built at the end of the nineteenth century as a fishing port and fishing also continues to be practiced today, giving rise to the auction fish market which takes place every day. Another fascinating aspect of Selinunte is the nature reserve at the mouth of the river Belice, a coastal area that extends for more than 5 Km and is bordered by unique sand dunes that move in the wind.

Furthermore, it is not necessary to have a car in the village, because everything is within a range of only 3 Km: accommodation, restaurants, beaches, the port and tourist attractions. You absolutely must try the authentic food and the excellent local wine.
